Interiores Zihuatanejo

Love to Shop? Interiores Zihuatanejo is an eye-catching new store that begs a look. They opened their doors in March 2005 and have been steadily expanding and filling their showroom chock-full ever since.

A bold selection of home furnishings and accessories vies for your attention at their main showroom in central Zihuatanejo. They sell a wide variety of products from many countries and are a family owned and operated business backed by 32 years of experience in the home furnishings and décor industry. All of their products are custom hand-made furnishing and accessories and export-quality Mexican products that they sell here in Zihuatanejo and abroad; such as wardrobes, dining room sets, end tables, sofa tables, head boards, couches, chairs, benches, bars and bar stools, lamps, fine art prints and accessories. Not just large scale furniture pieces, they also have many fun and funky gifts in suitcase-friendly sizes, from frames, to shell bangles, to pillow covers and vases in many decorative styles.

Owner Jason Merritt explains his eclectic store décor with the quip, “Shopping should be fun,” and at his prices, buying is fun too. Designers and new home owners will especially appreciate the ease of their custom design services, their extensive network of artisans and suppliers can make made-to-order pieces that are only limited by your imagination. And for the community minded, they also stock hand-embroidered accent pillows by “Mujeres Nuevas Creaciones” women’s craft co-op, a ProjectsZihua community development project. and Troncones Secondary School fundraising calenders.

Interiores Zihuatanejo, bringing a world of new decorating options to Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo, has a main showroom in central Zihuatanejo at the curve of Benito Juarez Ave. where it meets the canal, just across from Lopez Impresores and a second show room at the Ixtapa Marina, numbers 5 & 20, adjoining Ixtapa Real Estate. They are open Monday – Friday 11am – 8pm and Saturday 11am – 4pm.

> Funky Fish Sculpture - Whimsical welded handmade aluminum sculptures that can enliven any environment. They come in solid brushed aluminum or hand painted with colored glass eyes. From small wall hangings to 3 feet long sculptures, they are all full of personality and no two are alike.

< “Playa de Amor” Wardrobe – This all wood wardrobe, hand-made and hand-painted by Mexican artists. Depicting a lush tropical beach scene that could be any where from Playa La Ropa to the South Seas, it is exactly the type of show piece furniture that begs to be in a beach house.

> “Lamparas de Vara” – Spiral twig lamps that emit a wondrous inviting glow. Hand made with all natural materials in Chihuahua, they come in 3 sizes, small, medium and large (shown in medium and large) and can be purchased individually or as a set of three. Each lamp includes 2 bulbs and is floor-standing and they are also available in wall sconces and chandeliers.

< Art Prints - High quality brush stroke reproductions printed on canvas give all the illusion of high art without the cost. A wide array of tropical and Mexico-inspired paintings to fit any style of decor from traditional to modern to pop, with new selections arriving regularly. Framing and reproduction art prints has been the family business for 32 years.

> Oriental Lanterns – These fun and colorful lanterns are the same ones found in the new Winn Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. They are made of a high quality synthetic brocade fabric with wood collapsible skeleton. They come complete with a light kit that includes a light bulb and cord that can be plugged into any standard outlet, there are multiple sizes and colors to choose from.
