State Surfing Semi-finals

The national surfing circuit begins again this time of year and Zihuatanejo surfers (always high ranking) came out to compete with other Guerrero state surfers for slots to represent our state in the national tournaments to be held next year. Final destination is a place on Mexico's national surfing team.

The State surfing semifinals were held at Escolleras in Ixtapa, with the winners going on to compete in the state finals in Acapulco, Nov 26,27, 28. From there the first national circuit will be held in Encenada, Baja California. You can be sure we will follow the action and keep you posted on the results as, as in year's past we are expecting our local surfers to place very well.

The winners of the surfing semi-finals, advancing to Acapulco were:

1st place: Ivan Fernandez
2nd place : Serafin Chino
3rd place : Alvaro Rodriguez
4th place: Antonio Paz
