It’s quite possible Zihuatanejo is not fully ready for all the fun Lulu Jones Cosmetics has to offer, but we think bringing Carnival back is a step in the right direction. Lulu Jones Cosmetics is owned by Cosmetic Artist, Dawn Schmidt, who in her native New Orleans, Louisiana, worked her magic with world renowned models and photographers before bringing her colorful self to Zihuatanejo six years ago. Named after Schmidt’s grandmother, whose photograph hangs in the store, you won’t find Lulu inside, but that doesn’t stop people from asking for Lulu when they come in. And after three years in business in Zihuatanejo, Dawn has accepted that being known as Lulu around town, isn’t such a bad thing. 
A small shop that promises big changes in your appearance, Lulu Jones Cosmetics has a dedicated clientele of glamour girls (and boys). Alongside beauty products from the US, Europe, Russia and Israel you will find everything you need to make yourself a carnival queen. Feather boas in a rainbow of hues, peacock feather masks, body jewels and glitter in all its glory, spray glitter, dusting glitter and body glitter (nothing better than the shimmer of glitter in the sun). Wigs in a multitude of colors and lengths made with real human hair, temporary hair dyes, and a full array of accessories. Sparkling eye jewels, diva nails and long long lashes. They also have hair extensions of real human hair, imported from Italy, in every possible color, natural or supernatural. The extensions are attached to your existing hair by keratin and last from three-six months. In one day you can go from barely there to a mane of hair.
