Z BIG BIRTHDAY BASH
Z-Scene - March 2004
Gloria Bellack had a fab birthday week celebrating 340 years of multiple birthday parties which included the birthdays of friends from around the globe. Ray Collins from San Antonio, Linda Ball from San Diego, Penny Franz from Las Vegas, former Miss World Annie Sydney from Great Britain and Australia, and Gloria’s son Avon Dawson from Great Britain all met up in Z to party hearty. Sail Fest and the partygoers joined together to generously donate goods and raise money for the Netza School. Gloria’s sister Pauline and other friends from abroad brought school supplies, and with many helping hands made gift bags that were presented to all 325 children at the school. Special kudos to Bondesque Bill Underwood and the Bellack Foundation. The week culminated in a gala Birthday fest at Tony and Claire’s “swankienda” above La Ropa. Over 100 guests attended along with two bands and local native dancers. All Z-Usual Suspects attended the swingin’ soiree that went on til the wee hours of the morning. Julian, chef/owner of El Meditteraneo prepared the Z-licious food and Z-Beauty Isabel made her salaciously sinful cakes for the event . Rick and Heike of Rick’s Bar, Luscious Lois, Marco and Janelle of Bandido’s, Carol and John of Zihrena Systems were among those on hand whose gracious gourmet offerings appeared to please the Birthday G-ds and perhaps this ritual will take place again next year.
