The First Annual Zihuatanejo International Guitar Festival, a week of guitar music in paradise, April 18-25, 2004
Come for the beautiful beaches, the warm ocean breezes, the charm of a sleepy fishing village on one of the most beautiful bays in the world and the chance to hear a wide assortment of accomplished guitarists, all in beautiful Zihuatanejo, Mexico.

Zihuatanejo will be full of music in April when international guitarists from all across the globe come to play. With invited musicians representing all genres from classical, flamenco to jazz, blues, rock and all points in between.

Put your toes in the sand and enjoy an afternoon of music at our opening day beach concert.
Las Gatas Beach Club on Las Gatas beach. Located across Zihuatanejo bay and accessible only by boat, Las Gatas beach is the perfect tropical setting for a full afternoon of guitar music.

When the sun sets, there is still time for music. With beach front bars, restaurants and live music spots in central Zihuatanejo participating, every night will be full of guitars.

With quiet dinner shows and rocking sets, there will be music enough for everyone:
Hotel Villa del Sol is hosting 2 nights of La Ropa beach front dinner shows, Coconuts restaurant will be hosting dinner shows in their romantic candle lit garden.

After dinner there will be ample night life at 5 area bars and live music spots in central Zihuatanejo, each highlighting guitar music from across the globe, every night of the festival.

The Sunday afternoon closing event will make for a special day. A full day of guitar on Zihuatanejo’s bay front plaza. Free to the public and showcasing our talented local musicians, Guitar Fair will have music, vendors, booths and artisans from Paracho, Michoacan, a village world famous it’s hand made guitars.

The First Annual Zihuatanejo Guitar Festival will be benefiting the newly founded Escuela de Musica de Zihuatanejo (EMZ). A music school founded by Zihuatanejo’s local musicians union to further music education in Zihuatanejo, with classes in all levels of music instruction and future hopes to expand into a cultural school of art, music and dance.

If you are a music lover or just one of many devoted Zihuatanejo lovers, April 2004 promises to enchant you with guitars in paradise.
