MIDNIGHT MADNESS: 2002 arrived in all its splendor and the fireworks over Playa La Ropa were glorious. “Tripping the night fantastic” at LEONORA’S New Year’s Eve soiree until the wee hours of the morning were TANTALIZING TANIA, JOHN and CAROL, LUSCIOUS LOIS and DASHING DAVID, PATRICIA from Chicago, CHARLIE from Ireland, CLAIRE and TONY PIAZZA and Beautiful Daughter ILANA, AWESOME ABBEY, GRACIOUS GRACE and HANDSOME “hijo” WINTER, CAROL NYSTROM President of the Los Angeles Branch of The International Fashion Group, JERRY LIEBOWITZ of Beverly Hills, JIM and DEBBIE from Fort Meyers, Flo., TOM from Seattle, and JUDY BRENNAN with daughter RUBY who looked great in gold lame and faux braids. It was a tie between LUMINOUS LEONORA and LUSCIOUS LOIS for The “SPARKLE PLENTY AWARD” given for the most glam and glittery gowns of the evening!

Z-SIGHTING: Playcationing around La Ropa was actor RICHARD GERE with son HOMER and other family members. They were spotted sailing and sunning on the NIRVANA and enjoying the hospitality of CAPTAIN ANDREW and his CHARISMATIC KATE. Also on the Nirvana was CARI from Montreal and ANDY, former tennis pro at the Villa Del Sol, as well as JEREMY PAZ, son of CARMEN PAZ and Beat Generation’s JOHN BRENT of 2nd City. JEREMY is in town to concentrate on writing a book about his growing up in and around the celebrity of those interesting days. Love Is In The Air: While sailing outside the bay many large sea turtles were “scene” mating which leads one to believe that the turtle release program is working.

JUDITH WHITEHEAD Proprietress of Paradise Properties, gave a Merry and a Happy at her charming condo in Ixtapa. Among those on hand enjoying the open house celebration were sons WOODIE and ROB, daughter-in-law LUPITA Z-Beauty ISABEL, Z-ALWAYS AMAZING MARGO with “hijas” TERRIFIC TURQUESA, MAGICAL MALI, LOVELY LULU and SHINING CHELAN, MONA FELTS and hubby DR. RALF ZIMMERMANN of N.Y., Computer Whiz ANDY and beauteous wife BEVERLY, Fireman JOHN and PAM from Seattle, KAPTIVATING KAT and Z-hija JESSIE, aka our “Hottie from Hollywood”.
BIRTHDAY BASH
”IT WAS HANS AND KAT’S BIRTHDAY AND ALL THROUGH THE NIGHT THE FEDERALES WERE SEARCHING THE CARS WITH DELIGHT”: Yep! That’s what happened at the birthday party in Troncones given by birthday boy HANS, owner of (Posada de los Raqueros), and birthday Girl Friday And Every Other Day Of The Week KAT of Jaguar Tours. In spite of the frenetic Federales, many tenacious partiers made it to the celebration under the palapa next to La Tortuga. Salsa-ing the night away were headturners VERONIQUE, KAREN and SANDRA from Belgium, STEVEN and GERT, ALEX and JEAN who are the dealers at the blackjack table at La Cantina in Hotel Villa Del Sol, Publishing Maven CATHERINE KRANTZ, RAY and MALURY ORDAS owners of Puesta Del Sol, BARB LINDLAN who is building the Troncones library in honor of her late husband. Attorney DAVID CONNELL with MAURA and baby DIEGO (who was keeping up with the best of ‘em), FABIOLA, KAROLYN, LILI, CAPTAIN ROBERT, Z-hija CHELSEA and ASTONISHING ANA ISABEL and HUW of Jaguar Tours.
A great time was had by all and the proceeds from the sale of the beer was contributed to the new Troncones library.
FOLLOW UP REPORT
The presentation of ARTHUR KOBY’S one-of-a-kind jewelry designs at Orlando’s Bar in Hotel Villa Del Sol was a smashing success. Attending was owner HELMUT LEINS with former Ms.Guerrero MARCELA GALVEZ, INES PROCTOR wearing her KOBY designed aquamarine necklace, and Galart proprietor ROCIO MADRAZO who was wearing one of ARTHUR’S art pieces as well. General Manager PETER KOEHLER’S stunning wife WIBKE was modeling a gorgeous crystal piece that looked like it had her name written all over it! Bad Boy Report: At Coconuts for the showing of PETER SCHWORER’S Las Gatas paintings was happy-as-can-be honoree OWEN LEE whose shell mobiles and wood carvings were also featured. The event was a blast with many locals and out of towners enjoying the artwork and good vibes.
Love and Marriage: The wedding of ANN MERRITT and CHRIS KELLOGG at their Casa Colorida in Troncones was catered by chefs GABY, CELIA and NORBERTO. Residents attending were DEWEY and JILL, SUZANNE and BOB HOEBERMAN, GAIL and WILLY PARSEGIAN, EVA and JIM, CAM and BEVERLY, VLADIMIR and YESSANIN of Burro Burracho, CHRISTIAN owner of La Cocina Del Sol at Hotel Eden, and MIKE and ELENA BENSAL of the Inn at Manzanillo Bay among others.
Happy Birthday this month to KAPTIVATING KAT, SCINTILLATING CINDEE LEO, Z-Lovely LETI RODRIGUEZ, OWEN LEE, CAPTAIN ANDREW, CHARASMATIC KATE and ELVIS who you can be sure has left the building.
Our best wishes and prayers go out to WILL owner of Casa Bahia for a full recovery from his recent illness.
